A Clear Communicator
Lara Kaylor came to the Eastern Sierra in 2003 with a degree from UC Berkeley. Her passion as a journalist and communicator led her to get to know many people in the community.
Over the years she has worked in different communication roles, all which have been community-focused and driven.
After 23 years in the area, she can confidently say she understands the region and the many important pieces that make up its ecosystem. The programs run by the Mono County Office of Education are vitally important to the fabric of our community and Lara wants to make sure they continue into the future.
In our rural area, our kids need access to different types of alternative learning. Lara is onboard to make sure they get what they all deserve and will work best for each individual learning path.
When she is not working on communication projects within the community, she is running a statewide travel website and volunteering with the PTO, coaching soccer and robotics, and enjoying the area with her husband, Darin, their two children, ages 9 and 3, and the family dog, Hank.
Lara is a local through and through and wants to invest her many years of experience back into the kids of our county.
