Committed to Our Community
I am seeking a position with the Mono County Office of Education Board of Trustees (Area 3) to enhance and grow the programs available to the children of our community from birth through high school, and beyond.
As the mother of two young kids and a recent participant in MCOE programs, giving our children the best chances to succeed from day one is a mission close to my heart.
Not all children follow the same traditional learning path, and it is important, especially in a rural area such as Mono County, to be able to provide alternatives that allow all children to thrive.
The programs offered through MCOE provide this opportunity and their continuation and growth are crucial. From the libraries to the early start programs and charter schools, and everything in between, my main goal when elected will be to support these programs and help them grow so that they can continue to support all of our local families.
As a 23-year resident of the Eastern Sierra with recent experience running my own small communication business, I will bring fresh insight to the Board on ways to support these programs and then clearly share successes and results with the community.
Taking Care of Our Kids
As stated in its Mission, Mono County Office of Education is committed to serving students, schools and communities by providing and supporting exemplary educational programs in a professional and fiscally-sound manner in order to foster healthy and productive individuals.
I have personally participated in MCOE’s Early Start programs, as well as library programs for ages 0-5, and know how valuable these programs are to our community and its families. They provide support for the children as well as the parents. In addition, the charter schools and Adult Education programs fill a huge need for alternative learning in our County.
